Felipe Noval Acevedo

Felipe is currently an Of Counsel at the Firm and a Consultant to the World Bank. Previously, he served as Deputy Superintendent for Financial Intermediaries and Insurance at the Financial Superintendency of Colombia. Before that, he was Vice President of Compliance and Legal Affairs at SoyYo, a digital identity Fintech created to foster trust in digital interactions and mitigate fraud and impersonation risks in digital channels.
Before joining SoyYo, Felipe worked at the Banking and Financial Institutions Association of Colombia – Asobancaria, where he initially led the Leasing Directorate and later served as Director of Digital Transformation and Financial Inclusion. In this role, he led projects related to electronic payment systems, the design of digital financial products and services, rural credit, financial inclusion strategies, and Open Finance.
Felipe also served as a Senior Attorney in the Legal Vice Presidency of Grupo Bancolombia.

He is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and holds postgraduate degrees in Commercial Law and Financial Law from Universidad del Rosario. He also holds an LL.M. from Stockholm University (Sweden) and an MBA from CESA – Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración.

Felipe has been a lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad de los Andes, Universidad de La Sabana, and CESA, teaching courses on Financial Law, Fintech and Digital Transformation, Digital Banking, and Modern Trends in Financial Management.

He speaks Spanish and English.
