Juanita Castro Romero
Juanita Castro is a Partner in the Firm’s Tax Law practice.
She has more than 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors, advising companies and individuals on tax matters, strategic tax planning, commercial law, and corporate law. In the public sector, she served as Legal Director of Colombia’s Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, where she advised several Ministers of Finance on highly complex matters involving tax, constitutional, and economic law, both domestically and internationally.
She played an active role in the development and implementation of Colombia’s economic policy, including the structuring and advancement of legislative initiatives and the drafting of complementary regulations in tax, fiscal, customs, and related matters. Her experience is further complemented by serving on the boards of directors of several state-owned enterprises.
She earned her law degree from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and later obtained postgraduate specializations in Taxation and Financial Management, as well as a Master’s degree in Taxation, from the same institution.
Juanita speaks Spanish and English.
