Santiago is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a focus on International Commercial Law and Law of Damages. During his legal studies, he was part of the Economic Criminal Law Research Group, where he strengthened his skills in legal research and regulatory analysis.

He has experience in customs law and trade facilitation, supporting the research and application of the Colombian customs regime and instruments such as free trade zones, Authorized Economic Operators and other foreign trade mechanisms. He has been involved in the preparation of legal opinions and regulatory analyses, as well as in legal support to companies and investors in the establishment and structuring of operations in Colombia, with a particular focus on customs compliance and regulatory matters.
